When we think of college applications and Ivy  League schools, we often consider test scores, grades and extracurricular activities.  According to recent research by national college counseling associations, character matters! A student’s personality, values and contributions also carry significant weight in the admissions decision to a dream school.

Our keynote speaker, Lynn O’Grady, Director of College Counseling at Westridge School in Pasadena, will share her expertise in looking at various pathways to dream colleges. She will highlight areas of building character: risk taking, failing as learning, overcoming challenges, serving community and problem solving as examples.

The parenting conference will include small panel discussion and Q&A time. Some guiding questions center around: What qualities do we wish to instill in our child? What does success look like? What are key factors in preparing our children for a positive transition to college?
